Professional Coaching
It may be said that the profession of coaching has emerged from a human need to reconnect with our authentic selves. Through coaching, individuals and organizations discover how to better manifest their own gifts and realize their true selves in the world. In the professional arena coaching aims to better coordinate action, develop more effective leadership, and deliver business results.
Our coaching is founded on professional work with human values and integrates an ontological approach. We are engaged in ongoing learning about personal and professional mastery; human development; and navigating the ever-more complex terrain of life and work in the 21st century.
As coaches, we place special emphasis on cross-cultural challenges, connections and communication. We create a safe environment in which to have meaningful conversations, and we support our clients in opening up to new ideas. Together, we can discover new territory, learn about new possibilities, and change our observations and actions. we have been acknowledged for bringing authenticity, integrity, depth, and a caring presence to our coaching.
Training
Both Urs and Jennifer have been trained to work professionally with human values using an Internet-based tool and experiential process called ValuesOnline. ValuesOnline enables a person to identify and connect with his own values. By knowing our own values, we can better live them. By living our own values, life becomes more meaningful. A more meaningful life results in higher motivation and productivity.
As ontological coaches, we are trained and certified by the Newfield Network, and we focus on a person’s way of being rather than on his actions and behaviors. Ontology, a word derived from the philosophical tradition, describes the study of what it is to be human. Shifting focus from “what I’m doing” to “who I am” can reveal many courses of action that we might not have previously realized were available.
